Privacy Policy

Sifria is a reading companion and library management app made by Larso Labs, LLC, a limited liability company based in Wyoming, United States ("Larso Labs", "we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect through the Sifria app and the sifria.app website, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: your library lives on your device first, we sync it so you don't lose it, we don't sell your data, and we show no ads.

Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account you may provide an email address (for email sign-in), or sign in with Google or Apple, which share your name and email address with us. A display name and profile photo are optional. You can use parts of the service without an account where available; account features exist so your library can follow you across devices.

Your reading data

The content you create in Sifria: the books on your shelves, reading statuses and progress, ratings, reviews, saved quotes, notes, reading sessions and timers, streaks, collections, wishlists, and cover photos you take. This data is stored on your device first and synced to our servers so it can be backed up and shared across your devices.

Book searches

When you search the catalog or scan a barcode, your query (title, author, or ISBN) is sent to our servers to find the book. Catalog results are provided through licensed third-party book databases. Like the rest of your activity in the app, searches may be used to personalize your experience — for example, to recommend books we think you'll enjoy.

Usage and diagnostic data

We collect anonymous usage data — such as which features are used and how often — to understand what is working and improve the quality of the service. We also collect diagnostic information (crash reports, errors, app version, device model, operating system, and language) to keep the service stable. This data is not used to identify you.

What we do not collect

How we use information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Service providers

We use a small number of third-party services to run Sifria. They process data on our behalf, under agreements that limit their use of it to providing the service:

A current list of our processors is available on request.

Deal finder and affiliate links

A future version of Sifria may include a deal finder that helps you find and buy books on your wishlist from third-party retailers. If you open a retailer through Sifria and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission from the referral. Retailers do not receive your account information or the contents of your library from us — only the referral link you chose to follow. Purchases are made with the retailer, under the retailer's own terms and privacy policy.

Sharing

We share personal information only:

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account from the app's settings or by emailing us; deletion removes your personal data and reading data from our servers within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep certain records. Data stored only on your device is removed when you delete the app. Anonymous, aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access to production systems is restricted, and we follow industry-standard practices to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you as required by law.

International transfers

Our servers are located in the United States. If you use Sifria from outside the U.S., your data is transferred to and processed in the U.S. Where required (for example, for users in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. California residents have the rights described in the CCPA, including the right to know and the right to delete; we do not sell personal information as defined by that law. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hi@sifria.app — we respond to all verified requests within the timelines the law requires.

Children

Sifria is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect, and the "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
